Welcome to NASAA's Communications Manager

Please join us in welcoming Sue Struve, the latest addition to the NASAA staff team. As NASAA's Communications Manager, Sue ensures NASAA's mission and value are conveyed to members, constituents, the public and the press through online, print, and personal communications. She is responsible for NASAA's website and other online communications as well as printed materials. Sue will also work to strengthen the state arts agency "community," fostering connections among and between member agencies, volunteers and staff.

Survey Design Assistance: Question Understanding Aid Tool

The Question Understanding Aid (QUAID) is a software tool designed by the University of Memphis to help survey designers to improve the wording of questions. Users can input draft questions, which are then analyzed for potential problems such as vague wording, unfamiliar/technical terms or complex syntax. QUAID is free to use, although registration is required.

Nine to Nineteen: Youth in Museums and Libraries: A Practitioner's Guide

This publication is the latest in the Institute of Museum and Library Services Engaging America's Youth Initiative Series. Practitioners, community planners and youth development leaders can find useful resources on funding, evaluation and out-of-school programs. Mobilizing Change: 10 Nonprofit Policy Proposals to Strengthen U.S. Communities

This report from the Aspen Institute's Nonprofit Sector and Philanthropy Program contains proposals to improve government policy affecting the nonprofit sector. Suggestions include creating a Small Business Administration for nonprofits, a distinct tax code for social enterprises, and a "musical Peace Corps" to strengthen and expand music-based public service.
