List your statewide event in the Community Calendar
As a national source of information on public arts funding, NASAA provides a knowledge network and fact base to help state arts agencies make informed policy decisions and put their own state's needs and experiences in context. Providing customized responses to member questions is a hallmark of NASAA. This new column offers specific examples of the NASAA research services available and shows how they can be customized to meet your needs.
Mapping the Work of State Arts Agencies
State arts agencies often need to document the reach of their work geographically. Here are three examples of how maps can be used effectively to visually represent information.
In this example, the agency's grantmaking dollars and U.S. Census population data are layered together, providing a more information-rich picture.
This example shows the names and locations of the state arts agency's regranting partners, the county arts councils.
NASAA also uses maps to document its own work. This example shows the distribution of member information requests fulfilled, as well as in-person staff site visits that were conducted over the past year.
