A new report, Policy Partners: Making the Case for State Investments in Culture, identifies the factors that contribute to the success of public policy initiatives in the arts, humanities, folklife and historic preservation. Sponsored by The Pew Charitable Trusts, the report provides examples and practical action guidelines for building coalitions that encourage support of the arts and culture at the state level. NASAA was one of the core collaborators in a feasibility study commissioned by Pew to learn how state-level cultural agencies can strengthen and deepen their policy work.

PDF versions of the Policy Partners executive summary and the complete report are available on line, as is a high-contrast version of the full publication. Additional background information and related research can be obtained from the Center for Arts & Culture Web site. For more information on the report or the Fostering Innovations initiative, contact Kelly Barsdate at NASAA, or the Center for Arts & Culture.
